Mary was her model in living out the gospel
As a member of a religious congregation
In post-Revolution France.
Today the Marist Sisters all over the world try to live the Gospel
As Mary would in this day and age.
They form parts of that “Tree with many branches”
That Jean-Claude Colin imagined.
The other Marist religious congregations are:
Marist Priests, Marist Brothers, and Marist Missionary Sisters.
However, you don’t have to be a member of a religious order
To model your life on Mary’s simple pattern.
There are lay Marists all over the world,
Ordinary people without religious vows,
Who try to live the Gospel as Mary would.
They do this in whatever situation they happen to be in –
Whether they are male or female, young or not so young,
Married, single, divorced or widowed.
So, if you are a person,
Who wants to live the Gospel in Mary’s way
By bringing Jesus to birth in today’s world and
By bringing others to life in him –
Without drawing attention to yourself,
Perhaps this simple pattern would suit you too.
